For example, with the social problem of poverty, we might consider it this way:

On the micro/individual level, we might explore factors such as spending habits, individual employment and education, depression, child abuse, hunger, and a host of other factors.

On the meso/organizational level, we might encounter social service organizations, law enforcement and the courts, employment agencies, food banks, and many more.

On the macro/societal level, we might look at government legislation and policies that may have contributed to (or may be alleviating) poverty, such as health care reform, welfare reform, and so on.

1. Examine various sources (such as books, web sites, and academic journal articles) on the social problem you select. There is an academic journal called Social Problems available online from your computer (Manderino Library’s section of the Cal U website). List these sources at the end of your paper in a Works Cited page. This page counts towards your 3 page minimum. Use either APA or MLA format for citing sources.
